St-Thomas Rail Trail DS Ride by ODSC
October 13, 2018
This is a great end of the season ride on a trail very few people know about. It’s a trail I call the longest in South Western Ontario.
The trail starts just west of St Thomas and I’ve ridden it as far as Blenhiem which makes it 80 km of trail 1 way. It is or was rail trail, but now it’s fairly grown-in in spots so it’s a little tighter and little slower. You’ll probably spend more time in second and third gear than fourth and fifth. It passes through a few small towns along the way. It’s quite interesting and scenic.
It’s a great dual sport route, ideal for any size bike including KLR’s, DR650’s, bigger adventure bikes, etc. It could probably be ridden with stock DS tires but more aggressive tires will be an advantage in the late season.
